iRest Yoga Nidra Sessions

What is iRest Yoga Nidra?
iRest Yoga Nidra is a guided form of meditation that provides a gentle and supported path into deep relaxation. It is especially effective for people who struggle to settle their minds during their meditation practice. The guided nature of iRest provides an anchor for the mind, which helps you let go of intrusive thoughts, and release into a very deep state of relaxation. It is an evidence based ancient transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that releases negative emotions and thought patterns, calms the nervous system, and develops an inner sanctuary of well-being and equanimity that underlies all circumstance you may encounter in your life.


Although initially developed by Dr. Richard Miller, an American psychologist, for use with veterans suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, research has demonstrated that iRest Yoga Nidra also effectively reduces the symptoms of depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, mild traumatic brain injury, and chemical dependency.  But more generally, it is a wonderful technique for coping with the stresses of daily life, building resilience, self-awareness, and self-regulation.  Suitable for absolutely everyone. The practice is done lying in a zero gravity chair, or on a yoga mat and props to get comfortable.

Is a co-meditation in which we converse with your body to access its wisdom through the language of sensation.
Meditation can help you tune in to your body as sensation, so that you can start to respond. One of the most effective meditative practices for refining your responses is something Richard Miller calls bodysensing—a practice to help you feel embodied, in which your physical sensations can inform and change your behaviors and mind.

Weekly Meditation

There are many levels to who you are as a spiritual being. Your body is the part of yourself that seems most real. Often times when we desire to affect change in our lives, we focus on altering the physical body and spend little time healing our mental, emotional or spiritual bodies. Healing and change take place from the inside out, because the energy flows from the inner self to the outer self. Total health means healing of all the layers of our bodies starting from emotional and mental bodies. When those are healthy and whole the physical body naturally heals, with a better mind frame we less likely need to binge eat or use other harmful ways of staying “thin”, even overexercising.
The simple exercises that follow are designed to reveal the powerful effect of sensing and feeling versus thinking. As you switch from thinking to feeling, you activate a natural relaxation response throughout your body. The longer you are able to simply feel a particular body sensation, the deeper this relaxation response will be. Research reveals that the regular practice of bodysensing, and the deep relaxation that results, grows brain-body connections through the creation and strengthening of neural pathways.
Your breath is one of your most powerful healing resources. For instance, deep, slow, and rhythmic whole-body breathing can reduce anxiety, fear, pain, and depression
; activate your immune system; increase your ability to concentrate; and release healing and “feel-good” hormones, such as serotonin and oxytocin. Deep breathing does this by activating your parasympathetic nervous system and a rest-renew-heal response, ultimately helping you feel relaxed, in control of your experience, and connected with yourself and the world.

Traditional Therapeutic Yoga

 Finding lasting health and happiness through exploration of movement, breath techniques, meditation and mindfulness practices. This implementation is a journey of Self-discovery, using the physical body in a gentle way to find hidden messages of emotional trauma. In this class you may encounter body sensing movement, mudras, chants and sitting in contemplation besides the gentle moving of the body. We incorporate this evidence based ancient transformative practise of yoga Nidra to balance our mental state where we experience our well being and wholeness so we can live a more loving life.

Understanding Your True Self workshop series

Workshop #1 - Release your Deep Fears

In this Series you will learn to:        
       Understand how to fearlessly face your fears.

Workshop #2 - Build your Self-Esteem

Do you struggle with emotional addictions, betrayal, and attachments?
Want to build forgiveness, self-esteem, boundaries, and self-expression?

In this Series you will learn to:

  • Yoga practices that helps you to flow and release your hurts
  • Establish relationship with your higher self 
  • Learn to control and release your senses 
  • Meditations to awaken to your energy of creativity 


Workshop #3 - Calming the Mind through Self-Knowing 
Do you feel that your mind is running your life?
Does your mind tell you that you need more space, that you are limited by time?
Does you mind make you feel that you are lacking and flawed?
Do you feel confused and disconnected?
Do you feel that something is missing and that you are incomplete? 
Does your mind tell you that if you just had better and more things you’d be happy? 
Does your mind say that if you are learned more or did more you could be happier and whole again? 

In this Series You will learn:
  • To become aware of these messages from the mind. 
  • Understand the nature of the mind. 
  • See that these messengers are the product of your genetic inheritance over millions of years of bioengineering. 
  • Understand that you as an individual is not separate from the whole. 
  • Clearly see that every thought, sensation, feeling, and emotion you experience – be it fear, anxiety, anger, hurt, shame, depression, or delight that you feel can reveal your deepest psychological and spiritual health, harmony and wholeness. 
  • Learn and practice how to overcome your conditionings of the mind, habits and symptoms that are a hindrance to experiencing your true inner being. 
  • To realize that your inner self is same as the universal self.

These workshops are uniquely designed with more than 40 years of knowledge and practice experiences combined. These workshops are life altering to every seeker who participates. We would love the opportunity to bring these workshops to your students. 
You can give the option of joining in one or more workshops. The duration of each workshop will be five hours. We can bring these workshops to you on the weekends.

What is a Mandala:
The word Mandala (pronunciation mon- dah- lah) means "circle".  A Mandala represents wholeness, a cosmic diagram reminding us of our relation to infinity, extending beyond and within our bodies and minds.
The mandala appears to us in all aspects of life, the Earth, the Sun, the Moon and more obviously the circles of life encompassing friends, family and communities.  

Mandalas are circular designs symbolizing the notion that life is never ending. 
Mandalas are used for meditation purposes allowing the individual meditating to become one with the universe. There are not many who are able to achieve this state of mind from just studying a mandala. 
Mandalas can be created by individuals to symbolize their journeys through life. Mandalas can also tell a story of where an individual has been.  In some cases they will reveal the individual's path in life.  Groups can create mandalas that will reveal what they should be doing in order to grow and develop as a group.
